According to the Chicago Sun Times, John Danks recently turned down the same four-year, $15.5 million contract that Gavin Floyd agreed to Sunday.
"I don't want to come across as greedy,'' Danks said. ''I'm anything but that. Gavin's done really well for himself, and it would have been great for me.
But [agent Jeff Berry] said if we wait, things can get better. I'm going to take his word for it. I just hope it works out for me." The two pitchers have the same service time, but Danks is two years younger than Floyd and is coming off a significantly more impressive season, so he's probably right to hold out for more money than his rotation-mate.
