Adrian Gonzalez has a novel idea. Having already played in the World Baseball Classic for Mexico, Gonzalez said he's ready to answer a call from the United States, which is looking for a replacement for injured first baseman Kevin Youkilis. "Why not?" wondered Gonzalez, who was raised on both sides of the San Diego-Tijuana border. "I qualify for both countries."

According to the Chicago Sun Times, John Danks recently turned down the same four-year, $15.5 million contract that Gavin Floyd agreed to Sunday.
"I don't want to come across as greedy,'' Danks said. ''I'm anything but that. Gavin's done really well for himself, and it would have been great for me. But [agent Jeff Berry] said if we wait, things can get better. I'm going to take his word for it. I just hope it works out for me." The two pitchers have the same service time, but Danks is two years younger than Floyd and is coming off a significantly more impressive season, so he's probably right to hold out for more money than his rotation-mate.

truthfully, in that instance, i think its the agent trying to get him as much as he can. and frankly, he would be dumb as shit to take the same deal since floyd isnt as high quality as danks.

Is it possible to get injured while getting undressed? Apparently so. Pittsburgh closer Matt Capps reported feeling a sharp pain in his right elbow when he pulled his jersey off Monday night after the 7-4 loss to the Brewers. Capps had just surrendered four ninth-inning runs, including Weeks' home run. An MRI was done Tuesday on Capps' elbow, revealing no structural damage. He did have some fluid in the joint, however, and was not expected to be available to pitch again before Friday.

First Ricky Romero injures his oblique on a sneeze, Chris Dickerson knocks himself out on a revolving door and now Capps hurts elbow by taking his jersey off? What a bunch of boners!

BTW That little blurb makes it seem like getting undressed is what caused Capps' injury, when it's not. He only started feeling the effects of the injury while he was getting undressed. It was obviously caused by something else.
