when I went to Oakland and Baltimore, we met several Sox fans that said that was their vacation because 1) they want to get away and 2) they want to see the sox. I'm not saying everyone does that, but there were even people on the same plane as me. Not all were going on vacation to specifically see the Sox; there's a lot to do in San Fran so it was a combo...but going to Baltimore was to see the Sox because it's only an hour flight or so from RI/MA...cheaper tickets, plus many Sox games sellout so they couldn't even get tickets.I don't get, unless it was a local type team (meaning New York or Baltimore), it would be that much cheaper to go on a trip then to Fenway. It's one thing if they see a game while on a trip, but trip to see a game? Nah. The cost of bleacher seats (the difference) is likely less cash then a drive/fly/train/whatever.
