It wasn't important. The former part of your sentence was basically "Roids help you hit home runs." The latter part was basically "You can't honestly say roids can't help you hit home runs." Now, was I trying to argue that roids can't help you hit home runs? I don't think so. I'm saying that you are denying that you're using Bonds as the poster child for a roids debate.
Ok, so you're not saying Soriano, ARod, or Vladimir Guerrero is on roids, then whom particularly are you saying can approach 755 with the help of roids? Certainly not Joe Blow with an under the counter roid presciption?Originally Posted by HollywoodLeo

Are you really this dense? I was in the midst of a debate of whether or not roids can help someone who already knows how to hit a baseball at the major league level hit the ball over the outfield wall more or not.
I used Bonds as an example...and here's the key part, so I'll bold it so that hopefully you can understand it this time...under the pretense of him using roids. In other words, if Bonds was on roids they'd certainly help him attain the levels at which he's achieved.
Nowhere in this thread have I stated Bonds is on roids...I challenge you to find a quote in which I did say this.
Maybe my mistake is using to many big words. Just in case,
pre·tense /prɪˈtɛns, ˈpritɛns/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[pri-tens, pree-tens] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation –noun
1.pretending or feigning; make-believe: My sleepiness was all pretense.
2.a false show of something: a pretense of friendship.
3.a piece of make-believe.
So, in other words, I wasn't saying Bonds is on roids, I was simply stating that roids could've helped him achieve his numbers....but, of course, so could pure ability and stepping up his production.
That is the main reason why I stated that I'm not saying he's on roids....I was simply stating roids can help you hit home runs.
On an ending note, I'll save LTR the trouble of responding.

Pretense and assumption pretty much mean the same thing, but I'm satisfied with your following quote:

reading through the exchanges, I do realize I misinterpreted what you said in regards to the initial "issue" of whether or not roids can help you hit home runs, however.
My bad.
Somehow this got twisted into a silly semantics debate over what i'm saying and what my thoughts are.
I'm done with this thread.
