I dislike Bonds as much as the next guy, but he's about to do something only one other person in history has ever done.
I think that warrents extra media attention, roids or no roids.

But to cut out of whatever it is to show him EVERY AT BAT and give Bonds 10minutes of EVERY highlight show? Its getting ridiculous if/when he breaks Ruth jsut show the shot and be done with it after the fact.
Theres also another Thing that Ruth was that Barry will never be able to claim. Ruth was a great pitcher too.

Going on vacation? When I hear out of the country I think Europe.
"For someone who was never meant for this world, I must confess I'm suddenly having a hard time leaving it. Of course, they say every atom in our bodies was once part of a star. Maybe I'm not leaving... maybe I'm going home."
Well when I think of vacation I think of dive boats, jet-skis and warm weather.
I don't even hate Barry, but this is the worst HR race ever. Incredibly boring.
That being said, did you find it ok that Ben Johnson broke Carl Lewis' world record in the Olympics? Roids or no roids!?Originally Posted by HollywoodLeo
Bonds passing Babe after cheating is as noteworthy as someone who cheats in class. Not getting caught doesn't mean he/she didn't cheat. All it does is totally and completely belittle the accomplishments of those who EARNED their scores. Same with the career homerun race. Bonds has tainted it so bad, it completely belittles the accomplishments of people like Babe Ruth, Harmon Killebrew, Willie Mays, Frank Robinson, Mike Schmidt and the like.
People shrugging it off irks me almost as bad as that cheating piece of shit doing it.
He didn't break it. His time got wiped out from the books when the tests came back positive.Originally Posted by Lynch

What does it matter? Point is, it got wiped out and Ben Johnson was publicly shamed. If Bonds also tests positive, his records will most likely also be wiped out and he will be shamed as well. Besides, Carl Lewis also used banned substances. As did three others in the top 5 finishers who were in that '88 race, if I recall correctly. Carl Lewis isn't exactly a role model for clean sports.
The problem is Bonds isn't the only one, he's just the poster boy of a much larger issue.
If we wipe his stats out, we may as well wipe out all stats from the late 80s on.

What the ****, ESPN
Carl Lewis still hasn't admitted to using that stuff, though. In one of those ESPN top 25 lists, Carl responded with an angry "How dare you!" when he talked about Ben Johnson using roids to break Carl's record.Originally Posted by DirtyKash
