My while I was gone post: (From my site)
What a disappointing week and a half. I left on a 3 game losing streak (April 21-23), and I came back on a 5 game losing streak (April 30-May 4). This is unacceptable. Do you know that we are only 1 game better then we were last year? Hard to believe, but this year we are now 12-16, last year at this time we were 11-17. So let’s review. When I left we were 8-10, .444, and 2 games out. Now we are 12-16, .429, and 5 games out. So we went 4 and 6 while I was gone. 1 win vs. Cleveland, 2 wins vs. Texas, and 1 win vs. Oakland. And now we are heading into an incredibly hard 2 week stretch of @BOS-@NYY-vs.BOS-vs.NYY. In fact the rest of this month we are only playing 1 team that is currently under .500, and that is Tampa Bay. What is with our hitting? Beltre doesn’t have a bat. Sexson isn’t doing to well. Ichiro has been in a little slup. Our C-SS combo at the bottom of the order still isn’t hitting.
What will it take for the team to score a few runs. The Seattle Times ran an amazing comparison to 2004 at this point today, and we have even hit less HR’s then we did last year. We have hit 17, last year 20. The only thing that is better from last year is our team ERA, and that we are less games out. That is it. The addition of Beltre, Sexson, and Reed has only helped us by one game in the standings. Amazing.
Here are some Box Scores:
Last Night (5/4)
Suzuki, 0-4
Beltre, 0-4
Sexson, 1-4
Boone, 1-4
Reed, 0-4
Wilson, 2-3
Valdez, 2-3
5/3
Suzuki, 1-5
Beltre, 0-4
Sexson, 1-4
5/2
Suzuki, 1-3
Beltre, 0-4
Sexson, 0-3
5/1
Suzuki, 0-3
Beltre, 0-4
Sexson, 0-4
And that is just the last 4 games. I could continue.
And talking about our SS problem, Porter99 on Strike3Forums.com has an interesting Sig:
[Jason Jennings's OPS = .473
Kerry Wood's OPS = .472
AJ Brunett's SLG= .462
Paul Wilson's OPS = .462
Wilson Valdez's OPS= .439
Can any of those Pitchers play SS?!?!?!]
Expect to see the spects soon, because this team can’t compete.

Circular logic aside, Mr Mims, you have yet to provide a single credible reason why you are, in fact, hot.
I tell ya what. I am impressed with Hargrove. I really am. This guy is a good leader and a good person. He has done a good job leading the team through tough times with encouragements and wisdoms. That's what a good manager does. I know he believes in himself and in the team and that's infectious. Eventually, the M's will turn it around.
They have to turn it around now, this is not the time to be messing around like they have been.Originally Posted by Steak

8 posts away from the Padres forum.
Well, actually, 7 now I guess.
We PASSED the Pads Forum today.
Anyways, Jose Lopez is hitting .438 in Tacoma now, He hit 2 HRs in the loss to Albuquerque.
Snelling is hitting .391 in Tacoma, considering the M's Offense is struggling all the way around you think these bats would help.

The Jamie Moyer-Borders battery Wednesday night featured the first 40-40 tandem since last Oct. 4, when Border caught 42-year-old Terry Mulholland with the Twins. Prior to that, the last pair of 40-year-olds to work in the same battery was Danny Darwin and Tony Pena on July 5, 1997, for the White Sox against the Red Sox.

Which state rains more? Washington or NJ?
Either way, I am tired of it. NJ rains like every freaking day and it is supposed to rain all weekend here. This is the third straight year that NJ had no spring and it rains like every freaking day. I rather have snow than rain.
Washington is more spread out than Jersey. But lately weve been getting a lot of sun. Its wierd.

Oops I meant Random Thoughts. Oh well.
New Jersey has gotten so much rain since Saturday evening. I am tired of it. We haven't had sunshine in awhile. In fact, we never do. It rains, rains, and rains here all the time. NYC gets more sunshine than us.
Gil Meche has some great stuff and he has a knack (sp?) for getting out of jams, but sometimes he can't throw a strike to save his life. Tonight he has thrown 3.1 innings of shutout, 3 hit ball, but he already has 81 pitches? WTF?
Could it be the Devil Rays have a brighter future than the M's?
I like the D-Rays and what they are doing. But they need to be in a different divison. Their spects arent all up there yet when they are, look out.
