Full StorySEATTLE -- The Mariners get to spend the next two weeks playing teams competing for postseason berths.
The White Sox are in town for three games and the Yankees make their second and final trip of the season to Seattle for a four-game series starting Monday night. The homestand is followed by a six-game road trip to Anaheim and Oakland.
"If you can't contend yourself, you would like to have as meaningful a part of the [playoff] process as you can," manager Mike Hargrove said. "We'll take what we can get, play hard and see how it goes.
You know as much as I love to see them beat the crap out of the teams remaining on the schedule, i doubt this will happen.
