Does he have enough to stay around as at least a defensive replacement. Im still iffy on the guy, i think hes similar to Ugeto from the 2001 team.

2003 Hybrid World Champion (115-47 reg season, 11-4 playoffs)
TBL: Anaheim Angels 2006-present (238-244 regular season, 1 division title)
MSL: St Louis Cardinals 2013-present (2734-2936 regular season, 5 division titles, 2 championships)
TSSL: Seattle Mariners 2006-2029, Pittsburgh Pirates 2030-present (209-277, 5 division titles w/SEA, 1 championship w/SEA)
Valdez has more talent than Ugeto, that's for sure. He's not going to be a future regular, so if they feel he can help as a defensive replacement, he should. He's not the type of guy that needs Triple A at bats while developing skills...ya know?
He does have more upside than Ugeto for the fact he can at least get CONTACT on a baseball. Id like to see more of Valdez to see if he can bet that type of player.

If Lopez and Reese are both healthy is he on the roster? Probably not.
Lopez is nursing an injury right now and really needs more work in AAA. Valdez is a good stopgap for right now defensively. Id like to try catcher cause for gods sakes Olivo is killing me.

For now I like Pokey and Valdez, but when Lopez is ready, he has to take over Valdez' spot.

Circular logic aside, Mr Mims, you have yet to provide a single credible reason why you are, in fact, hot.
Valdez is really start to improve on offense a little and could be better off than Pokey eventually right now. Pokey is still hurting right now.
