I honestly do believe the M's are going for the record for the weakest hitting infield in MLB history.ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports that Jack Wilson lost 22 pounds over the offseason.
We didn't realize he had that much to lose. Wilson now tips the scales at 177 pounds, which he says is the lightest he's been in almost 10 years. He wanted to lose the wright in order to take pressure off his chronically sore hamstrings. Though still a fine glove man, Wilson has tanked at the plate in recent years, hitting just .249/.282/.316 with no homers over 193 at-bats last season.
