Mariners Give Kennedy Invite

Mariners signed INF Adam Kennedy to a minor league contract.
He'll also get an invite to spring training. Kennedy, who turned 35 today, batted just .249/.327/.327 with three home runs and 31 RBI in 389 plate appearances with the Nationals last season. With Brendan Ryan expected to open the season as the starting second baseman, Kennedy will likely battle Matt Tuiasosopo and Josh Wilson for the one of the final bench spots.

It's official, the Mariners will have the weakest hitting infield in the modern era, possibly ever.

Adam Kennedy was arrested on DUI charges Wednesday in California.
Kennedy was driving on a freeway at 9pm in Orange County when he was pulled over and booked. He posted bond the next morning and was released. The 35-year-old inked a minor league contract with the Mariners in early January and will be competing for a utility middle infield job this spring.

Two Mariners arrested in the same month. Oh how wonderful!
