We also may be on the verge of signing 17 year old Rafael DePaula. Would easily be our biggest international signing since Felix, a lot of people value him as the equivalent of a first round pick.

The M's have always done well with getting the younger international players without having to draft them.

I have to say that I have been interested in Triunfel for a while. Hopefully he can get past his injury and get back on track. I think this is the year for him to prove himself though.

He will be 21 in 3 days, so he is still very young which is a major plus. Did he get to AAA last season? And do you guys know what position they have him playing. Last I read was that he was being used in the same capacity as Jose Lopez when he was coming up. Keeping the options open for him to play anywhere.

He was hurt all year, got injured breaking up a double play in one of the first games of his year, which was at AA. He has always had a reputation for being uncoachable and I know the Mariners were frusturated by the fact that he didn't understand english at all and didn't seem interested in learning. He showed some dedication in his rehab though and apparently can now communicate in english after working on it all season. I think his future is still in the infield, his strengths are his reactions and strong throwing arm so I'd say he's a future 3B.

He just turned 20 today. It'll be 2012 before we are talking about him in the majors.

Yeah he is still very young; so there is plenty of time for his production to take steps forward.

How has this spring been going guys? Anyone look good with the bat? How does Bedard look?

Bedard is throwing but it still will be until July at the earliest before he goes.

Adam Moore has had a great spring and could really push to be the catcher. While Rob Johnson can call a great game, Moore can hit the ball. Matt Tuiasosopo has had flashes of the potential. The guy the M's were pretty surprised with was Tommy Everidge (Who they got from the A's). Prov, do you know anything on Tommy at all?

    Re: Pitchers and Catchers Report!

Looking more and more like Moore/Johnson is going to be our catcher platoon. Obviously they're going to let Johnson catch Felix, but I wonder if Moore would start with all the other guys unless he needs a day off. Moore sounds like he's going to be a stud for us for a while, but I guess he has some pass ball issues.

Tui has shown he can rake but he still doesn't have a position. Will be interesting to see if he is our utility infielder to start the season or if we go out and try to get a better defender.

I think RRS will get Johnson as well.

That's who I would've figured but I wasn't sure if maybe Snell had developed some sort of Felix-like chemistry with Johnson. RRS seems like he could pitch to anyone, Snell seems like...well a bit of a head case.

Snell reminds me of Joel Pinata (Pinero) or Freddy Garcia mentally.
