Prospect Tuiasosopo a different hitter in camp

Tuiasosopo a different hitter in camp | Mariners.com: News

Going into Sunday afternoon's Cactus League game against the White Sox, Tuiasosopo was batting .500 (17-for-34) with two home runs and seven RBIs.

"He has turned a lot of eyes," Cockrell said. "He just continues to be more and more consistent with his approach, his swing, the whole package. He has been very impressive."

There isn't an award for most improved player from one camp to the next, but the 22-year-old third baseman arguably has shown more progress in the past 12 months than anyone in the organization.

A glimpse of his improvement occurred at Triple-A Tacoma last season. He batted .281 with 13 home runs and 73 RBIs.
Tui has been the talk of camp and if Beltre does go down for any reason or gets dealt. He is the 3B in waiting. I just hope they don't wait 4 years like they did Edgar. Im not insisting that he will be a .300/.400/.500 hitter. But they have been known to wait on guys too long in the minors.

Say that name five times fast! I see Beltre getting traded at some point this season and if Arod has any setbacks, it could be sooner than later. This kid will get some ABs this season.

I think he will see time as well. But he was originally a SS before moving to 3B. Hes not fluid defensively but has the natural talent to play the position.
