Angels Game 2: Angels vs Mariners 4/4/06

Anaheim Angels (1-0) vs. Seattle Mariners (0-1)

Safeco Field @ 7:05 PM PdT
    TV: KSTW (Local)

    John Lackey vs. Joel Piniero

The Angels escaped with a 5-4 victory by getting by our Putz last night. Joel Pineiro takes the hill to try and rebound from a horrible 2005. John Lackey takes the hill for the Halos to build on a solid 2005.

I intentionally left Beltre off the poll cause we all assume hed be the most likely one to rebound from last season.

Soriano wins this one easily, he looked fantastic last night, velocity got up into the upper 90's and he blew a few fastballs by Vlad. It was just a matter of getting healthy for him. I think Reed will improve a lot too, but we won't know for sure until he is healthy.

What's Reed supposed to "rebound" from? Last year was his first year...

    Anyways, i voted for him.

Being a top 10 prospect in all of a baseball and then hitting .254.

Pretty much all the guys on the poll are rebounding from being a shitty baseball player except for Raffy.

If i put Beltre, then everyone would vote him. Reed struggled a lot at times last season. I too went with Soriano.

    Any predictions to this game?

I think the Angels will probably win if Lackey is like last season.

    Angels 5, Mariners 3

    WP- Lackey
    LP- Pineiro
    SV- KRod
    HR- Vlad, Beltre, Sexson

I dunno...I predict the Angels will win, but that's why you play the games...I suspect it will be close either way.

I guess it is unanimous (among M's fans). Go Soriano!

Circular logic aside, Mr Mims, you have yet to provide a single credible reason why you are, in fact, hot.

Shaky control by Pineiro, but he gets through the inning. Only walks one, no hits.

Ibanez with the single off Lackey's foot. Sexson singles Raul over to 3rd.

    Come on Adrian!

Beltre K's on an inside ball called a strike. Also had a shady first strike called on him.

The Angels announcer doesn't even bat an eye.

BIG double play after runners were at 1st and 2nd with no outs. Runner still at 3rd though.
