Panda out 4-6 weeks

Pablo Sandoval is scheduled to undergo surgery on Friday to repair his fractured left hamate bone.
The early timetable for his return is 4-6 weeks. Sandoval was hitting .316/.375/.537 with five homers and 15 RBI through his first 104 plate appearances this season and will be sorely missed in the San Francisco lineup. Conor Gillaspie, who was recalled from Triple-A on Thursday, will try to make up for some of the lost production.

Goddamnit all to hell!! Sandoval broke his right hamate bone last year nearly on the same date last year. What is it about playing the Marlins that we have to lose our best hitters? Gillaspie is in the lineup today so hopefully he can have a good 1st game or else Bochy won't play him again. This injury will again hurt the Giants greatly so the pitching needs to really step it up but more importantly the middle infield needs to pull their head out of their asses.

Pablo Sandoval (hand) took some grounders before Monday's game and has also been taking soft-toss swings from the left side of the plate and dry swings from the right.
Doctors were scheduled to look at Sandoval Monday, and the Giants should know soon how much longer he'll be out. "Our doctors will take a look at him (Monday), and I can give you a better answer on what the target date would be for him to come back," manager Bruce Bochy said. "Hopefully it's a couple weeks." Sandoval was given a 4-6 week timetable when he underwent surgery to repair his fractured left hamate bone, and he'll hit the four-week mark in a week.
