Bumgarner looked fantastic today and might be my sleeper pick for CY.
Gregor Blanco has looked very impressive so far and could make the team as a 5th OFer/pinch runner.
Hector Sanchez sat out a few games with a tight hamstring and came back to homer from both sides. He is now 7-14 with 3 HR.
Brian Wilson threw a scoreless inning in his spring debut.
Posey felt good after his two innings of catching which is key.
Melky Cabrera is still red hot.
Blanco remains white hot going 3-3 with a BB and SB.
Gillaspie took Hochevar deep for his 1st HR of the spring.
Lincecum went four strong giving up 0 ER, striking out 4 and walking 2.
Bumgarner and Romo were finally hit hard today.
Pagan was the only Giant with multiple hits going 2-4 with a double and triple.
Posey hit an opposite field HR today. Good sign!
Looks like Sanchez might not be ready for Opening Day.
Heath Hembree was reassigned to minor league camp. This is a guy to remember as he will be up at some point this season.
Burriss looks like he will be starting the year as 2B. If Sanchez is indeed done, we need to find another 2B because the combo of Burriss, Theriot and Fontenot isn't going to cut it.Freddy Sanchez (shoulder) will be shut down for a few days.
Perhaps we're burying the lead here. As Andrew Baggerly of CSN Bay Area writes: "A bad omen: Freddy Sanchez is off for a couple days. At this point, it's not an overreaction to think shoulder is career threatening." It's pretty much a given that Sanchez will begin the season on the disabled list, but the 34-year-old second baseman may have a longer-than-expected-stay on the shelf.
In other news, Ramon Ortiz was released. He pitched better than Zito
everyone pitches better than zito.
Welcome swing4thecove! I see you made it over from McCovey
yeah, kid and bear are shutting it down. it really became a ghost town this off-season after your departure. bear and kid just announced that they were through with it a couple of days ago. so i asked where you had gone and bear said that you were on this forum under love that reefer. i had always wondered what the ltr stood for. i'm guessing that bear didn't allow the full name at mccovey.
Welcome to B/S!

Nah, I never tried to use my full name on there. I guess that's pretty big of Bear to suggest this place after he wrongfully banned me for no reason. Oh well, you won't be having any of that nonsense around here. I knew it would take a hit after I left but not as bad as you seem to claim. Sucks to hear they are closing. Try and bring as many of those fans over here if you can. The more the merrier!
As far as ST goes, Vogey finally started a game today and didn't look too bad. Panda finally had a good game after some time off and hit a walkoff homer off Greg Holland.
well, you weren't the only one they banned. they also kicked out be-a-lot-of-happy right at the same time. they eventually let him back in (pretty recently) but during the extended lull a few of the more regular posters kind of wandered off. i told everyone i was coming here so maybe some of them will come too. be-happy was hoping to keep the group together in moving to a new forum so maybe he will come here.
as for vogelsong, his extension was the giants' best off-season move. but that's not saying very much. i am only now starting to get into the baseball state-of-mind because the 49ers off-season has been so much more interesting than the giants off-season. i'm sick and tired of the barry zito charade and i'm still pissed that the giants could't find the money to make an offer to carlos beltran (who had rather reasonable demands) despite the fact that forbes estimated that the giants gained $80 million in value as a franchise in the last year.
