Finally, a catcher with a bat!

The Giants are expected to call up catching prospect Hector Sanchez from Triple-A Fresno Friday.
Sanchez, 21, is batting .302/.337/.465 with eight homers over 258 at-bats between High- and Triple-A this season. Though he's failed to go deep in 82 at-bats for Fresno, he has batted .305, so he hasn't been overwhelmed after jumping past Double-A. He figures to share time with Eli Whiteside behind the plate

I am really anxious to see what this kid can do. He can obviously swing the bat but the Giants lose their best receiver in Stewart so I want to see how his defense is. Sanchez has two weeks to prove himself before the deadline so hopefully he makes the best of it and adds a spark to this pathetic offense.

So does Whiteside continue to maintain a job simply because he knows the pitching staff? I've seen you post that he sucks defensively in addition to being bat-less.

Yeah Whiteside will stay despite being able to throw out a sweet old lady on a motorized cart trying to steal.

Looks like Burrell is going to the DL to make room for Sanchez so Stewart is safe for now. Belt should be called up very soon now.

Belt wasn't demoted, he broke he wrist but Belt has been tearing it up lately. Belt was 3-3 with a HR just last night.

DeRosa was put on the 60 day DL to make room for Sanchez on the 40 man roster.

I thought they had contemplated demotion... Maybe before the injury.

He was demoted before the injury but was recalled and that's when the injury occurred.

Sanchez was sent back down to Fresno after just 4 PA and 4 innings caught. Complete waste and I have no idea what the fuck the Giants are doing!! All this comes after Stewart was crushed in the head last night by a bat.
EDIT: I now know why he was sent down.
