Hunter Likes San Fran in 08?

Hunter is expected to be a hot commodity on the free-agent market this winter, and like A-Rod, he likes what he has seen of San Francisco. Hunter specifically mentioned the fans. "All you have to do is look on TV and you love those fans," he said. Hunter mentioned San Francisco while running down a list of attractive cities any free-agent might consider.

He was probably just being polite since he is in SF at the moment but would rather go after guys like him than spend everything on a guy like Arod. Hunter would look great in CF and hitting them in the LF seats. Anything is better than Roberts right now, in 08 and in 09

I saw that too. He said that the SF fans are great, that they are some of the most loyal in all of baseball, and that they'll do anything for their team. I don't think that means that he's going to sign with SF anytime too soon, unless they (the FO) are able to offer him the type of money that they offered Zito.

I think he would have said that if he would have been in any other city. He will take the best offer available and play for that.

The Giants went after Carlos Lee, Sorinao, and a few others before settling for Roberts and Aurilia so I'm sure they are going to go hard at this guy as well as some others.

Oh yeah. There's going to be quite a few outfielders heading for the market this year, not to mention some pitchers and position players.
