    Giants Rockies @ San Fran

    Pitching matchup
SF: LHP Jonathan Sanchez (3-0, 1.42 ERA)
Sanchez made his Major League starting debut Wednesday against the Reds and tossed 5 2/3 innings of one-run, three-hit baseball. It will be the rookie's third appearance against the Rockies this season.

COL: RHP Denny Bautista (0-2, 5.66 ERA)
Bautista will make his first appearance as a Rockie on Tuesday, sliding into a sixth spot in the rotation. The right-hander has an effective slider and an upper 90s fastball, but fastball command has been an issue for him. He has made mechanical adjustments in his delivery, no longer throwing across his body.

    Player to watch
Ray Durham is riding a four-game hitting streak, and is batting .500 (8-for-16) in that span. He had two doubles Sunday night and scored the game-winning run in Saturday's extra-inning thriller.

    Up next
    • Wednesday: Rockies (RHP Jason Jennings, 7-12, 3.48) vs. Giants (LHP Noah Lowry, 7-8, 4.00), 7:15 p.m. PT
    • Thursday: Rockies (RHP Aaron Cook, 9-13, 4.14) vs Giants (RHP Matt Cain, 12-9, 3.94), 12:35 p.m. PT
We should have an easy time with Bautista but who knows. Let's hope Sanchez can go a little longer this game and that the day off can give us some freshness.

Well I was right about Bautista but dead wrong about Sanchez. Sanchez got rocked early and only last 4 2/3 IP while giving up four ERs. Correia then came in to pitch a scoreless 3 1/3 to get his second win of the year. Feliz has finally decided to provide some offense as he went 2-4 with 3 RBI. Winn also joined the fun going 2-4 with 2 RBI including a solo shot raising his average to .258

Lowry looked horrible and he might be more hurt than expected. His delivery looked funky and was not close to hitting his spots. Wright didn't look much better but the Giants did put up a fight after being down 8-1. Bonds went 2-4 with 3 RBI including #24 on the year. Alou also had a 3 RBI game.

A bit of good news is that Benitez is out for the season with bad knees.

Just got done watching the entire Rockies-Giants game. Just hand the ROY over to Cain, he's filthy. Dan Uggla, Josh Johnson, Prince Fielder all lose out to this guy. 0.21 ERA since August 17.

The way Cain is finishing this season, I won't be so mad when we let Schmidt walk. The guy has been straight filthy allowing just one run in his last 6 starts. I wouldn't give him the ROY yet because of Uggla, Johnson, and Zimmerman. It's going to be a tight race but what won't be this year.
