Help me understand... I don't understand why you all gave up Logan Allen and Reyes for a guy with as much power as I have. Thanks though I really like the idea of a rotation of Castillo, Bauer, Gray, Wood possibly in 2020.

"Oh, don't mind me, I'm rebuilding now" then you win at least 80 games

If power was all that mattered in the game of baseball Trammell wouldn't have been your #1 ranked prospect or 30 in all of baseball.
I'm not a fan of the move but it's not because of home runs. We have enough home run hitters. Franmil wasn't even the team leader.

Also, enjoy that rotation in 2020 because Bauer has already stated that he's not signing a multi year contract in his career, ever.

As a Not-Padres fan, I am pleased with this trade, at least until my team ever crosses paths with the Indians in the WS. Franmil Reyes had proven power in Petco, and they gave up on him for a prospect who MAY be the next Carl Crawford if he reaches his potential?

On second thought, if Bauer and Wood walk out after 2020, the Reds will have given up Trammel, Jeter Downs, and Josiah Gray and be left with maybe draft pick comp? Ouch.
