    Alex Torres Traded to NYM

    Leo, or other SD fans, tell me a bit about Alex Torres. Good lefty arm out of the pen? LOOGY? Should I be happy the Mets acquired him?

    As for the haul you guys got, Mazzoni is a weird case, he's a bit too old to be considered a prospect at 25, but Wally Backman was effusive in his praise of Mazzoni. Frank Viola liked him too. Think they said he could be a starter if he keeps improving, or a long relief/spot start guy at least. The PTBNL, I would think a 2014 draft pick, but no clue who it might be.

    Tampa sold high on Torres and got in return Boxberger who's now their closer. I guess that's one reason why Josh Byrnes now works for Andrew Friedman, and not vice versa.

    We also got Logan Forsythe in that deal and for now he is the starting 2B.

    Poor Alex took some ribbing last season for the protective hat.
