Chase Headley to the Yankees

Yankees acquire Chase Headley from the Padres for Yangervis Solarte and Rafael DePaula.

I'll post a link when I find one but I'm seeing this in pretty much every forum I post at.

I'm just glad we got something for him before he hit free agency. He's had one great year and a bunch of shitty seasons, but I fully expect the diehard Chargers fans who call themselves Padres fans to shit bricks over this like we just traded Tony Gwynn in his prime.

i was fully expecting to see severino or sanchez going back. ive seen enough of solarte, he is what he is. dont know much about depaula, ive seen him on spect lists, but in the middling range. 3-3.5 star range i guess

The Padres also had to give the Yankees 1 mil in the deal. The Padres had to pay NY to take Headley

Every prospect would have a Rick Ankiel or Steve Sax moment. Either that or be accused of steroids every other month.

I fully expect Chase to revert back to 2012 form and fuel the hate from the Chargers fans/part-time Padres fans who barely follow the team just enough to get angry when they don't extend someone, don't sign the biggest name free agent in free agency, or when they trade a vet.

nah, headley will be a bum, im fairly positive of it. i hate everyone in the yankees lineup right now [except derek], why should he be any different. he'll be psyched out as a lefty, and swing for the short porch all the time... and i just read something that his hard hit ratio is down about 13% since 2012. aka... its not even that hes having bad luck and hitting the ball hard right at people... hes just a bum. he'll have a clutch hit in his first or 2nd game, win a couple people over [or lose a couple people on your side of it]... and then bat a crisp .220 the remainder of the year.

He'd probably be on here digging up some old post I made talking good things about Chase (probably in the 2012 time frame) and call me a hypocrite for not being upset now that they just traded him.

Hilariously, despite his prolonged slump, Solarte still has a higher OPS than Headley this season. .718 to .651
