I'm sure .Kobe would love to have his idol Kevin Brown back.

I laugh at the Dodgers regardless of the place you're in.......and my joy came at the Dodger front office destroying a team that finally got you to the post season, and replacing those guys with hasbeens and guys on the backside of thier careers.......

Dealing Nevin will free up much needed money next year for us to sign or resign certain guys.......at least that's what I've heard through the grapevine.....and getting rid of Nevin upgrades our offense, since he's been completely worthless for almost two years now.......injuries happen to everyone so it's a moot arguement......point is his #'s are way down for whatever reason....... Nady's time is here......and it's time for him to step up into the role and prove Towers right for allowing him to play everyday......

Oh yah, and just in time for us to lose our lead on the NLWest too......

I don't really fully understand the Olivo and Blum trades

    AGREED on both points

Well he's getting what he wants......X that is........fulltime play........now it's time for him to show why they made this move, no more time to wonder why he's riding the bench.........TIME FOR HIM TO SHOW UP........ along with everyone else for that matter.........
Come on Padres.......don't role over......that's no good.......step up and take back your lead......

No, not really. CHP's contract is much bigger than Nevin's, but the Rangers are compensating the Padres for the difference. From what I read the $$$ the Rangers are sending over is just enough to negate the contract differences and nothing more. We're not taking on more money, but we're also not saving any. (CHP's contract ends after 2006 as well)

The only things this trade accomplished is put our exhorbantly high contract in a position where it can be better utilized and freed up room for X to start.

Actually it's much easier to move a pitcher than a position player that isn't producing......that is what they are talking about doing this offseason.......that is not bringing back CHP, thus dumping his remaining contract and being out from under Nevins........I didn't add that because I figured you'd all heard that too........ if CHP works out, great, if not, he's gone

I highly doubt we'll have any luck at moving Chan Ho Park if he keeps pitching like he did yesterday.

That said, I still think he'd make a better #5 than any of the garbage we've had there since. That, and he doesn't suck up a position from Xavier Nady.

(Nevin did have a single and a double today)

The Padres are stuck paying the money the next two years either way, may as well put it somewhere it's more likely to help them. And even if it does hurt them it's hurting them once every five games, vice every game.

we're not stuck paying him specifically, but we're stuck paying the price one way or another. The only way a team is going to willingly accept a highly overpaid player is by giving an equally highly overpaid player in return.

Chan Ho can always be put on waivers and the Yanks will claim him.
