Anaheim is 26 miles away from LA.

I think it's safe to say it's the same general area, even if arbitrarily defined lines dictate that it's in a separate county.

I hated the league allowing them to change their name to the LA Angels of Anaheim.........what a stupid move that was.........it was bad enough as the California Angels, but at least it wasn't wrong......they are located in Cali.......the Angels are not in, and have nothing to do with, LA.

And you know I love taking shots at the Dodgers when possible, but this time Dodger fan is 100% right

the worst is the New England Patriots. Nobody gets upset about that one, but it pisses me off. Everyone assumes that since I'm from Connecticut, I MUST be a Patriots fan since I'm in New England. It's the dumbest thing ever. They're the Boston Patriots, or the Massachusetts Patriots, or the Foxboro Patriots. Get it right.

I could see how that would get old quick........Cali Angels was pretty frigg'n presumptive .....the entire state of California.......one of the biggest states in the union.......lol give me a break........now they are named after an area they aren't even apart of........wtf......at least the Pats are in NE..........the Angels aren't in LA, in any capacity

I think the name is dumb just because it sounds stupid, but they're still in the Los Angeles metro area no matter how dumb you think it is.

The "Los Angeles Metro Area" comprises Los Angeles and Orange counties.

Anaheim is closer to LA than Escondido is to San Diego.

Nobody would be whining about the Angels going with "LA" if not for arbitrarily defined lines stating that they're not in the same county. (And if "Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim" didn't sound so stupid.)

Nobody would care about the LA part of the Angels name if they'd had that name since their inception.........but they've gone through too many name changes, and this name is bordering on insulting
