NYGF busts a nut
KT better hang up if Joba's name isn't in the discussion.

Definitely will need a lot more than Hughes to make a deal.
Hughes sucks..........Jackson is way overrated..........and Joba is a ***** and would be nothing but a ****ing whiner here..........the NYY are NOT a good trading partner........
Angels make far more sense, and Peavy might waive for real to go there since it's still local
The Yanks #1-2 prospects would likely rank around 10-14 in the Braves system.......screw a trade idea with them......I hope this is just posturing by the Padres to get the Braves to finally cave on Hanson & Heyward
The Padres aren't posturing in any form or fashion.
Jake simply told KT he'd accept a trade there and whomever wrote that article speculated on who could be trade pieces.

Let me rephrase the statement.
The Padres may be posturing on other fronts, but the article we just read that suggested they could trade for Phil Hughes and failed to mention Joba was not posturing on the part of the Padres and purely the writer's speculation of who they might ask for after reporting that Jake said he'd accept a trade to the Yankees.

Some team is eventually going to have to break down a cough up some prospects. Imagine the Cubs going with Peavy, Zambrano and Harden next year. Sick!!Padres GM Kevin Towers said San Diego has narrowed the field of suitors for 2007 NL Cy Young Award winner Jake Peavy, focusing on three National League teams. Peavy has $63 million in guaranteed money remaining on his contract, which runs through 2012 and contains a club option for 2013 and a no-trade clause. His initial list of teams, given to the Padres last month, included Atlanta, the Chicago Cubs, Houston, the Los Angeles Dodgers and St. Louis.
Yankees won't trade Joba. He's untouchable.
And PFF, you are just being silly underrating the Yankees Prospects like that.

We had 5 quality MLers from the past 9 years. They had two.
Eric Milton is quality all right. Quality crap. And Jose Contreras was so good for the Yankees that he got dumped for Esteban Loaiza.
Francoeur did win a Gold Glove.
