Peavy to the Cubs dead
Good ! The more I thought about this, the more I realized LTR was probably right that this deal was crap.....
I heard the Angels remain interested, especially with CC going to the Yanks and Boston pursuing Tiex
Good for the Padres and bad for the NL West. I am glad the Cubs did not get their super rotation. Question now is how will the Padres fill their holes?
If it's truly a purge and rebuild.......then this next season is a throw away.....so very young and cheap
It ain't over yet.Jake Peavy is "frustrated" and "shaken" over the Padres' latest failure to deal him to the Cubs after weeks of talks, agent Barry Axelrod said told SI.com.
That might be good for the Padres if it causes Peavy to become more flexible with his no-trade clause. If Peavy actually wants out of San Diego, then perhaps AL teams like the Angels, Yankees and Red Sox could become legitimate suitors. The Angels and Yankees both are believed to have spoken with the Padres in recent days.
If Jake really wants out he shouldn't be so limiting on who KT can talk to.
This whole time I was under the impression that he wanted to stay in San Diego and was only giving KT a few places he wouldn't mind going since they were talking about trading him.

Thats just it......everyone BUT Jake has said he really wants out......even Axlerod has said repeatedly Jake wants to remain a Padre
Do you guys think with Moorad possibly coming over to buy the team that Jake Peavy is most likely to stay or is there still a good chance he is traded? I just read an article that said if the Cubs can get a new owner before Spring Training, Jim Hendry would reopen the Peavy pursuit.
IMO any new owner would like to have a legit staff ace on staff, locked up under market value heading into his prime......I think if Morrad buys, Jake stays unless someone just vastly overwhelms them with an offer........in which case anyone is gettable I'd think.
