the ONE thing that popped out at my eye real quick so far is that, I don't really recognize most of these Rockie players.. except for Helton and Wilson.. man this team is young.

Enjoy this game. I think that game was 5 hours long today.
Don't forget Joe Kennedy and Byung-Hyung Kim. I wonder how long will Rockies fans over there put up with him blowing games.Originally Posted by .KoBe.

Rockies have to hope this kid, Jeff Francis develops into a very reliable ace. They haven't that ever unless you consider Kevin Ritz and Pedro Astacio as aces.
won't be enjoying it if it keeps stopping .
But as expected most shootouts are long games.
im only at the bottom of the 4th. Woody got yanked.
boy did he get shelled.. Woody sure pitched like crap today.
These young Rockies are very VERY impressive. Aaron Miles, Baker.. I'm thoroughlyl impressed thus far.

If you look at some guys like Daryl Kile who signed with the Rockies.. he pitched like crap there, after he left Colorado for St. Louis, he was lights out.
MIke Hampton another guy who has pitched significantly better since leaving Colorado.
They have the bats, thats for sure.

Kobe: It's going to be tough for sure. I can come up with two guys that did well at Coors and that was Kevin Ritz and Pedro Astacio. Joe Kennedy had a fine year last year at Coors, but can this be a long-term.
If Jeff Francis can't do well over there, I don't know if the Rockies will ever find that guy to do well at Coors.
I wish the Twins went to Denver this year. I would love to see Johan pitch at Coors Field.
we'll see, I'm not too familiar with Jeff Francis, but I hear he's a stud.
But basically, Coors field is a nightmare for Curveball pitchers, and sinker ballers.. the thin air just EATS up the ball and it doesn't do what the pitcher intends for it to do.
I'm sure a guy with a hard fastball who blows everyone away can succeed in Colorado..

I am curious to see what Francis does. I hear great things about him and the Rockies along with the Denver media has been pimping him up so we will see what he does.
When the Rockies develop a legitimate pitcher, it will be their first.
Thoughts on the first game of the season:
1. Very SLOPPY Baseball - muffed balls on double plays, balks, missed signs... kicking the ball thinking it was a foul ball! Slop all over.
2. the Swings looked sharp.. Nady, Nevin, Giles, all looked good.
3. Woody looked flat.. yes it was Coors, but his pitches still looked very flat.

Yea the Rockies are REALLY young. I don't even think Luis Gonzalez played yesterday (although I'm not sure he's young, just an underrated untility guy).
Garrett Atkins is another one of those young guys but he is on the DL right now.
I aim to try

Coors field is what it is.........it allowed us to make our comeback, and it allowed the Rockies to do the same...........bottomline is we lost to what essentially was a rookie squad, and that should NEVER happen. We were and are the better team, and should take them apart tomorrow....... Damn Colorado for playing the NLWest as tough as they do........
I'd also like to say Kobe.....no CFer we could have run out there this year other than Nady could have kept us in that game. So any further thoughts as to why Nady shouldn't be in CF, or starting over Burroughs maybe ?? lol
dissapointing loss, but it happens.
One thing that really seperates baseball from the NFL (the only other major sport that really matters...) is that a team can afford to lose every now and then in baseball. in the NFL, you can only afford to lose five, maybe six times. In baseball, one of the greatest teams in history still lost 37 times. You're considered great if you lose 62 times.
Anyways, just pulling out the silver lining. The sad thing about tomorrow's game is Jason Jennings is pitching, and he generally kills us
Jennings is pitching true.......however the new and improved Adam Eaton is taking the hill for us and it's his year to prove he belongs as a starter.......
At least I heard it's Eaton over BLaw for start #2
Yep, last I heard its Eaton.
Not sure if I want this new and improved Eaton pitching in Coors!
