I'm in full support of that..........as far as I'm concerned.......at this stage of this season, there is only one silver lining........#1 overall pick........fail to get that and this season is a total waste

Nobody lookin out for nobody
Maybe we should try and help somebody or be somebody
Instead of being somebody that makes the news
So everybody can tweet about it
And then they start to R.I.P. about it
And four weeks later nobody even speaks about it.

I think J Five would agree with that.

I don't see how pulling for another team when your team isn't doing anything degrades from your loyalty to your team in any way.
It's not as though I'd root for the Angels if they played the Padres or anything.
Furthermore, it's not as though I'd really care too much if they lose.
And it's not as though rooting for the Angels in the playoffs this year would make me any less ecstatic if the Padres managed to pull it off next year.
I still have a closet full of Padres and Chargers paraphernalia so I don't think I need to validate my loyalty to either team to anyone.
And yes, mofo, I know I posted this thread. But before you say it, this thread wasn't about validation. This thread was about a drunken Padres fan being astonished at his own actions.

Everyone keeps talking about a disgruntled fan rooting for another team while their team of choice is down.
That is not me.
I root for Pads and Angels no matter what. They are both my teams. I have heard people on other boards say that people can't root for two teams and that it is not right. TFB I say, cuz they're both my teams.
If it came down to them facing each other, say in a championship game, I don't think it would matter to me which would win. I do think I would be pulling for the Pads as they were my first team. But the fact is, I don't know for sure how I would react until that moment came.
Another pattern I have developed is allegiance to players from my teams. In this day of constant trading for no apparent reason other than to trade, I find myself rooting and maintaining the allegiance to ex-players well on into their future teams. Some may call that wrong also. TFB there again.
