Yeah, let me jump right on that. That won't look like a bandwagon jump will it?

You're going to jump with me huh? Somehow, I can't see your wife saying "yeah, go right out and do that". She won't even let you come out so I can kick your a** around the golf course.

Hey, I read something about the Padres having interest in Steve Finley. OH CRAP, please tell me there's no truth to that.

For the record everyone........I shit myself on the golf course on Saturday.....still damn near managed to match Fres.....but in the end even a birdie on 18 to end my day couldn't help squash the stench that was my golf game.........oh well........I'm all for a rematch of that one for sure.......but I am a ways off of matching up with your buddy.....he's got me until I can start playing regularly again for sure.......he is a pretty solid golfer for sure.......

Yeah, he talks a good game too doesn't he? I played a better back 9, though ended up with the same score, but felt better.

Anyway, I can't imagine that KT would have any interest at all in bringing Finley back. If he can't hit over .200 at COORS FIELD than I can't see him surviving at Petco Park.

Agreed, I think defensively he might be ok, but his bat isn't much. There's no chance we see Sinisi is there?

There's a great chance.......he's getting up there in age, so his window is NOW, and he's tearing up winter ball after putting together a very very respectable AAA season last year........he's not built to play CF unfortuately, but he will be a serviceable corner OFer for a team needing OFers........or more likely a very solid #4 OFer

Are they giving him any shot at all to, at least, be the right fielder until Giles gets back, whenever that happens to be?

    Re: 2008 off season thread

Kerry Wood seems unlikely to re-sign with the Cubs, who then would pursue a proven reliever to replace him. It's also getting closer to crunch time on Mark Prior, who could be traded or non-tendered if he hasn't agreed to a deal by Dec. 12. The Cubs want him to give them an option for 2009 in addition to a one-year deal for '08, his last season before free agency.

We wont know for sure until spring, but everything points to him not only getting a shot to make the club, but a reasonable shot to win a starting spot at this point.

    Re: 2008 off season thread

Padres had offer to Kerry Wood....

According to Bruce Levine of ESPN 1000, the Cubs have signed Kerry Wood to a one-year , $4M deal with no options. Wood apparently had four other offers for 2 years worth $5M - $6M. The Padres, Brewers and Red Sox were among them.
