I mean, I suppose FMR could've came in here and said that the Rockies aren't the better team and the Padres gave them the games/playoffs.
I'm sure nobody would've came in here and accused him of making excuses had he said that...

Is there a reason you're taking shots at me? Did I say something that wasn't fact? Colorado WAS the better team last Monday night. The Padres got beaten by a better team, not a cover up, that's a fact. Colorado IS the hottest team in baseball right now and they are showing it.
It doesn't bother me that Colorado and Arizona are in the NLCS right now, so much for the NL West being the weakest division in baseball.

Your comment that the Dodgers "quit" was irrelevent to the topic from the start. You simply decided to take a shot at me based on which team I root for. So there's the reason.
There's a difference between being the hottest team and the better team. The Rockies certainly weren't the better team back when they were holding off the Giants for 4th place.
Because I've been watching the Rockies since I've watched baseball, and I just know how they've been in the past. Oh and also I'm slightly superstitious , whenever I down the Rockies (since they played the Pads two months ago IIRC) they win the series or sweep. So here is to the Rockies losing to the D-backs. One thing I could add in my digression, the team at the end of the year was completely different from the team at the beginning of the year. RISP production, two out hitting, clutch pitching, and Clintoris actually letting the team play have all been there at the end of the year. And in all honesty, the Padres could've easily been playing at this time of year instead of the Rockies (obviously). The Rockies at the beginning of the year were a very "unlucky" team (I hate the word luck) but the breaks weren't simply going their way. Now, it seems that the team has matured rapidly and is very cohesive. The Rockies are very enigmatic imo.
At least the NL West didn't get bounced out of the first round again. That was one of the trivia questions today. What is the NL West's record since 2004 in the playoffs. Not pretty.
It doesn't matter when they weren't the better team. All that mattered was, they got hot at the right time and the Padres lost to a better team at that moment. You can't argue that the Rockies are the hottest team in baseball, RIGHT NOW, not 2 months ago, but right now.

I love the argument that the Rockies weren't the better team when they were playing the Giants....SO? They were the better team when it mattered, which was last Monday night and their NLDS series against the Phillies.
