    Jason Bay available?

    Ok.........so........how 'bout

Chase Headley + 2 prospects for Bay ? So long as Pitt takes on a portion of his salary.......and Bay is still a pretty big bargain

Then sign Rowand to play CF, try to restructure Giles contract down a touch since we're clearing nearly all dead money after this year. Giving us an OF of ...

Bay, Rowand, Giles..........that's some kind of nice nice

    with a potential lineup of

    Giles
    Rowand
    AGon
    Bay
    Kouz
    Greene
    Bard
    Antonelli
    pitcher

To me this is a stellar lineup........and our bench could look something like...

    Hairston
    Blum
    Lane
    Mack
    Ensberg
    Stansberry
or even MB if he goes super cheap, and is ready around May-ish

Plenty of links attached to this site already...find them if you need

No, Chase Headley and 2 prospects (read: marginal prospects if you don't even know their names) is too much. Why don't they just instead offer Brian Giles back to the Pirates along with some Padres 2007 playoff tickets?

I'm not aware of any change to the thread name, so I don't know what you are talking about in regards to that.

    Re: Jason Bay available?

I changed the thread title right after it was made so as to not have it be named something that might stir up more crap that lead to the closing of the last Jason Bay thread.

I would appreciate it if the discussion in this thread remain centered around what it could possibly take to get Jason Bay back in a Padres uniform, or if that's even a plausible possibility.

From the only report I have read they are looking for pitching if they were to trade Bay.

I'm sure they would turn down a chance to address the hole they have at 3rd, in a deal to move their best bat.......

I'm sure they would like to fill that hole they have at 3rd by trading their best bat, and thus creating a bigger hole in their lineup.

    Re: Jason Bay available?

Maybe they feel the have the OF covered.........who knows.......maybe it's all bullshit and a bullshit rumor.........again.......who knows........Bays rumored to think something might give........the new GM was rumored to say similar things.........so who knows what they are doing there in Pitt.........if it happens........I think we'd be smart to position ourselves to take advantage......if it doesn't happen........move on

    Re: Jason Bay available?

The Padres WILL NOT trade Kevin Kouzmanoff, so let's just squash that where it stands. There's talk, from another forum, that Kevin Towers wants to have Chase Headley get some work in in left field during instructional league, prior to him coming to ST in February. If that's the case, I'll take back my whole "Adam Dunn" rant in another thread.

    Re: Jason Bay available?

If you want Bay, gotta trade Kouz and some pitching. Didn't the padres try Kouz in the OF this spring or was that the Indians in AAA? If I were the Pads and did think Headley was ready, **** Bay altogether and put Kouz in LF and Headley at 3B. Then go with money saved to get a Hunter/Rowand. Makes all the sense in the world to me.
