As one who has ****ed his ACL up twice now I feel his pain. But the way he did it is pathetic and will be on the highlight reels forever. Might have jumped the gun on the whole Bradley bullshit. Still having MVP thoughts?

I have watched the footage over and over and not once did the umpire show him up. He might have run his mouth and only Helton has the objective side of the story. But not once did he show him up and Bradley if baited, fell for it (pun intended). The umpire held his position the entire time so I cannot blame the umpire until Helton's side of the story comes out. The umpire will be undoubtedly disciplined if this true.

Let me know if the number works.

The umpire has zero right to keep chirping at MB while the game in going on........he was leading off base and the umpire needed to stfu.........if the umpire had an issue with the way MB tossed his bat 2 innings prior, then he should have filed a grievance with the MLBPA for review. Had he done this, nothing else would have happened........

FYI.......watch again.......Meacham is the first person to get to the umpire so clearly there were deragatory things being said.......Meacham's word I would trust, he's a class act, and has a good reputation through baseball.

Just like in this forum, it takes two to tango. Bradley didn't have to question anything about the bat flinging since nothing ever came of it. The umpire had no right to keep chirping like you said but Bradley could have been a man about it. Why even bring shit up? The umpire stood his ground and even when Bradley was coming after him the umpire didn't show anyone up. It wasn't just this one umpire who had a problem with Bradley throwing the bat. Meachum was the first to act which does make me think some things were said out of line but Meachum has an agenda. Helton is the only objective person that knows anything. I guarantee this umpire will be fined and no where near the playoffs. Bottom line, both were in the wrong.

To be fair........the home plate umpire brought "shit up", when he did Bradley questioned who started talking shit about him.........when he was at 1st he asked, and the umpire started chirping and didn't stop......

I'm not condoning MB's behavior, what I'm saying is that he should never have been placed in that situation to begin with, had the umpire done his job

And Scott Miller gets paid to say "I told you so" at sportsline.com.

It's too bad, as if the Baseball Gods kicked him in the knee. I think the umpire was to blame, he knew who he was dealing with and he knew what he was doing by egging on MB, and I personally think he said something very derogatory based upon the reaction he got from not just MB but also from Meacham.

So anything the umpire did was perfectly ok just because he didn't take action first?

Egging someone on and talking shit to them when you're supposed to be an unbiased official is acceptable?

The joke's on Milton because he let the Umpire's words get to him?

Honestly I wouldnt doubt if there was some sort of financial incentive for his actions. I mean really, after what we saw happen to the NBA, nothing would surprise me.

I'm not condoning Milton Bradley's reaction. A better man would not have let it get to him like that.

But the umpire is a professional and should not be resorting to grade school crap like that.

And I think it's fairly obvious that the umpire was talking some kind of shit to Milton Bradley based on the fact that Robert Meachem (Padres 1st base coach) was the first to blow up, not Milton.

All the talk about one person "showing up" another....Milton wasn't even called out on anything. He was standing at 1st base and the umpire was talking shit.

If I was Bud Selig that umpire wouldn't have a job anymore.
