Why do you insist on focusing on one of the more overrated stats in baseball, LTR? Especially when he's doing good even in that. (re: good, not great)
I'd say an .861 OPS with 8 HRs and 35 RBIs is pretty good over a 2 1/2 month stretch.
Now, you can try and argue whether that's "good" or "great" I'm not going to waste my time with that, I'm simply going to say that that constitutes succeeding, which is what I said he's been doing.
