Contrary to popular belief it's not a common factor for anyone who's doing good up any particular point in time to degrade and stop doing so good.
As hard as it may be to believe, plenty of players are actually pretty good all season long.
Point being: People like to make comments like "We should trade him now before he loses value!" and/or "The offense needs to pick up because these guys aren't going to pitch like this all year!"
While it's a realistic possibility some people seem to make these statements like it's a sure fact that needs to be prepared for.
