We leave for ST one week from today
Who's going to Peoria?
Well I'm assuming you're not asking me since I said we were....lol
Cassidy closed out the 9th........Padres win 4-3......couple notes
Kouzmanoff got his first RBI as a Padre
Hoffman got lit up
Venable played great defense
I didn't watch the game or anything, but i'd be willing to bet Hoffy was possibly working on his mechanics moreso than trying to get the guys out.
That's the case a lot of times with veterans in spring training who aren't having to worry about fighting for their spot on the roster.
PFF, be sure to take pictures when you go.

You bet I will......I need to learn how to upload them to this site though...I haven't had success doing that......
PMac went deep today......it's currently tied 2-2 in the 7th
Padres win 3-2
It's nice to see a victory, but really i'm more concerned with player performances than I am about wins and losses.
Although it's more the performances of those vying for starting roles and/or roster spots.
Vets that have their position locked probably focus more on mechanics of their swing (or of some pitches for pitchers) than actually trying to do something due to not having to win the spot.

Yah me too HWood.....and one thing that I've noticed so far.....all two games....is that Sledge isn't leading off yet.....wonder why that is....
Source: RotoWorldNon-roster right-hander Aaron Rakers pitched a perfect inning for the Padres on Tuesday night.
The Orioles kept Rakers on their roster while he recovered from a torn labrum last year, but they non-tendered him in December, giving away a potentially useful middle reliever. Rakers never had a very good fastball in the first place, so if his velocity doesn't come all the way back, he probably won't be too helpful. If it does, his splitter should make him an asset out of the pen.
Chris Young allowed one run and two hits over three innings Tuesday in the Padres' 5-3 win over the Diamondbacks.
A Scott Hairston homer was the only damage. Young said he's improved his changeup with the goal of becoming a more efficient pitcher this year. Only Gil Meche threw as many pitches per plate appearance last season, and Young was doing it in the non-DH league.
"For someone who was never meant for this world, I must confess I'm suddenly having a hard time leaving it. Of course, they say every atom in our bodies was once part of a star. Maybe I'm not leaving... maybe I'm going home."
Chris Young gave up an insane amount of foul balls on 2 strike counts last year.

Hopefully that changup will help to resolve many of those foulballs
