Sledge hit his 5th HR yesterday........his BA has fallen off a little, he's hovering around .300, but he's still showing very very good power.....
Royce Ring optioned to AAA today
NO! I was hoping he'd succeed. I was looking forward to the word play of "Ring" and "Bell" pitching before they ring the bells for Trevor. (assuming they'd both pitch, of course, with neither being primary set up men.)

Black said this am that RR would be a big contributor this season, and that he'd just like him to work on a couple things before coming back up......I'm starting to wonder if the Padres FO doesn't have a trade in mind which might free up a couple roster spots including a bullpen spot ?
Walker is gone......he gets the boot officially tomorrow
Opens a roster spot that I hope goes to PMac....

Minor League Baseball: News
Nice article. Very informative. I wasn't aware Carrillo was injured. I'm guessing he's the organizations top prospect? But a solid overview, i just wish they had ages with players. I assume all of those guys are "prospects" in terms of ages... i hate prospect reports when they talk about some 29 year old guy who will be a minor leaguer for life.
Scott Strickland was released today.

The Padres are currently out in front of the Rangers 21-2. I wonder if the Rangers can stage a comeback
23-5 now. Isn't there a mercy rule?
Old friend Eric Gagne allowed 4 earned runs in 1 inning.
