why do you guys think Pena would be good for you? He doesn't impress me too much. He strikeouts too much for me. I do agree that M. Giles would be a nice pickup and he would be happy with his bro on the team, then his parents couold watch them both at the same time.
He's a 24 year old OFer with tremendous upside....He's got speed and defense enough to play CF if needed, and if given a chance to start fulltime would likely turn into a very good corner OFer....He's a right handed power hitter which we need, plays a position we need, and is priced where our FO would like him to be....I believe that with Merv Rettmund to help guide him and correct some flaws in his swing, that he could turn into one of the top tier power hitting OFers in the NL....As for K's.....Dunn is a guy this team is looking at....if K's are an issue, he's the last person we'd want....and K's are acceptable if your other offensive stats are there....take Ryan Howard for example....
He's very young, and has yet to get a fulltime shot....whoever gives him that chance will likely IMO end up with a star player.....
He is only 24? I didnt realize that! Is that in Dominican Republic years, where he is really 32 or something like that? hahaha. If he really is only 24, I can understand his strikeouts and his inabilities at the plate.
Ha!! So true and he is from the DR....but I think he's probably closer to his real age than say......Pujols
I think, given a full season worth of AB's, I think he can turn into a powerful force in the Padres lineup.
