Only reason I didn't add Zito to that list is, according to Lyle Spencer, who covers the Padres, he thinks that Zito will be way out of their price range. Not to say they won't offer him the "hometown" contract.

Vincente Padilla is an interesting guy to me.......his #'s were good last year considering where he played......his attitude is my only concern, but not so much...and if Balsey can work his magic with him, Padilla might find a home here in Petco.....and he's only 29
Call me crazy, and I know some of you might, but I'd rather have Weaver.

Mulder, Belliard..
** However i do think that Marcus Giles will be non-tendered by the braves and become a FA and we will sign him that way.
That's an interesting thought McQueen, very interesting. There has been some talk that there will be a 3-way deal between the Sox, Padres and Braves involving Marcus Giles.Originally Posted by LightningMcQueen

Why would the Braves let Giles go for nothing?
some types of pipes make for great dreams......
i heard atl doesn't have money to retain him
I think we'll start to see a lot of things start to take shape come Monday morning when the Winter Meetings begin. We shall see....

Which is why they may be looking to dump AJones salary ..... ???....This 3 team trade may have legs
It may or it may not. I know Boston tried to get a deal done with Atlanta for Jones before the trading deadline last season. Who knows if that might come true this time around. I think we're going to see a lot of things start to go into motion starting on Saturday through the end of the Winter Meetings, which end a week from today if I'm not mistaken.

Are you kidding me? Any team can afford to spend $6 mil if that. He is arbitration eligible and made just under $4 mil. so I can't see him making more than $6 mil.Originally Posted by LightningMcQueen
