Sounded like you both were being sarcastic. I got your sarcasm but not so much his. Sounded like he was saying Peavy wouldn't be traded becuase he thought Peavy had a huge salary or something.
My sarcasm was dismissing the accusation that the Padres were being rumored to give Peavy away to the lowest bidder.
PFF's sarcasm was aimed at pointing out that they wouldn't be saving all that much...relatively speaking.

lol at someone not figuring that out.......my guess is you did, but chose to attempt to create yet another issue, in yet another thread.....yeah you're spreading your uselessness around even more.....woo hooo
Ya, you are right, I have no idea what would put the idea that the Padres would unload a great player for next to nothing. I just do not know what gets into me some days.Originally Posted by HollywoodLeo

Yeah because it was so clear I well explained what I thought you meant and gave the thumbs up. And its not like you haven't been getting your facts wrong lately Webb missing time, Burrell's salary, etc.Originally Posted by padrefanforever

No I don't care who's blame it is, just ignore each other and Hollywood won't have to keep closing legit threads.Originally Posted by love_that_reefer

I don't like it but I do seem to find some "good" ones. I am done now as I have made my point. Let's talk baseball shall we?
Atta boy Reefer. Did I hear you say "goodbye Steve"? I thought Steve Finley was still under contract with the Giants, or was that another Steve?Originally Posted by love_that_reefer

No, its Steve Finley and Steve Kline. Finley is a FA, just no one is talking about him. I guess i should add both to the list.
Knowing Steve Finley is a FA, Hollywood, as well as he played last season with the Giants, I would almost think about bringing him in for a 1 year deal, maybe an option for a 2nd. What do you think?

Finley didn't really play all that well for us but I can't blame him. He hardly had time to get in a real groove but the few times he did, it wasn't good. The defense is still there though. A fourth OFer he can really help on a team like the Pads or Cards.
Finley hasn't had a great batting average his last 3 seasons (.263, .222., .246) but he still has that awesome closing speed he's always had. He still has damn good speed for a guy that'll be 42 at the start of next season.Originally Posted by love_that_reefer

Led our team in triples. I dismiss his 2005 numbers as he was oft-injured and never was 100%. In '06, Alou wouldn't play him everyday when Moises was out so he never got that groove a player needs but made some of the best catches. I am sure he will stick tothe West coast or maybe the Cards since he is from my hometown of Paducah, KY which is in cardinal country.
Reefer, you're a lot like me, surprisingly enough. You're from Cardinal country and you're a Giants fan. I'm from Giants\A's country (Fresno, CA) and I'm a Padre fan.
As far as Finley, I agree with you, majority of his time in Anaheim was spent on the DL, but if he's given the every day opportunity, he can still help a team both offensively and defensively.
