    Hoffman breaks Lee Smith's record!

    http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/g...=.jsp&c_id=mlb

I was at today's game, it was awesome to be a part of history. I have never seen it louder than it was today for a Trevor enterance, and that says something.

I imagine it'd be louder for him breaking it...which hopefully happens tomorrow. (i'll be ther as well.)

The way he has been going he very well could break the record today. It seems like everyday I watch ESPN he has another save. The guy is an absolutely awesome closer considering he is in his late 30's. Congrats to the future all-time saves leader.

He's been one of the best closers in baseball for a long time. He hasn't lost his touch. That change-up is still as good as ever.
One day, hopefully 7 or 8 years from now, he'll take his place in Cooperstown.

Are you saying he's going to hang up his spikes after this season? That is what I'm not hoping for. He still has good stuff and should be able to get hitters out for another couple of seasons.
Here's hoping "Hells Bells" plays for another couple of seasons.

Trevor's on a 3 year contract, I don't see him hanging them up this year.

Trevor will have 500 saves before he retires.

No, I dont think he will. I was just saying that he wont need to wait 7 or 8 years after he retires to join the Hall.. Or were you saying he was going to play 2 or 3 years more and then 5 years from that he would be in the Hall?

Either way, it will be only 5 years after he retires...

I hope he sticks around for at least one more year. That will all but guarantee he will become baseball's first 500 save man.
