The Padres are trying to decide whether it's prudent to trade a top prospect for one month of Wells. They also have reached an agreement to sign reliever Rudy Seanez, who pitched for them in 2005 and cleared waivers Wednesday after being released by Boston.

Peavy's been outstanding and had arm troubles this year.

And I wasn't making any predictions in regards to Rudy, I was simply stating that he was nails last year and has therefore shown he has the ability to be a great reliever.

Whether or not he would be that for the last two months of this season remains to be seen.

WTF? Just more evidence that all this incessant trading that is going on in MLB is so unnecessary and ridiculous. Many of these guys are just recycling and makes me wonder WTF is REALLY going on. Geesus.

We needed another starter.....If Wells can come here and pitch like he has the last couple weeks this should work for us.....and like it or not Kotteras had no place on our club......at least they addressed this glaring need unlike the way they treated other needs....
