As long as he doesn't take a deserving guy's roster spot it's simply a non-move in my book.
If he takes a deserving guy's roster spot then it's a horrible move.

The fact that we gave up a guy of any value makes it a bad move, in my mind.Originally Posted by HollywoodLeo

From what I hear, the 23 year old apparently had some pretty good stuff, so a guaranteeing anything is pretty bold.Originally Posted by HollywoodLeo
23......and still in A isn't very good.........he should be in AAA by then, and making noise....his window is closing fast for a pitcher
IMO... Padres just need to keep pitching well and scrapping up wnough runs to win. They have a nice staff.
This was the stupidest trade, ever.
What we got was a poor man's Bellhorn. Yes.
stupidest trade ever?
Let's be real. This isn't even in the same galaxy as McGriff for Melvin Nieves.

5-4 shootout.
Branyon is on par with Walker.......first chance at 3rd, and shazam a throwning error........weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Well so much for that post.......he's already better than Walker......
Branyan's trying to make a case for himself.
3 for 5 today, 1 RBI

He's got me sold for the remainder of the season already.... I wasn't aware of the kind of power this guy has.......I had heard, but never seen....whew dude can mash....
I like him playing 3rd for us for the rest of the year........and Walker giving 2nd and 1st breathers.......and having Bellhack as my 9254287th option off the bench...
I also like having Branyan here knowing that he's not going anywhere, and if we can't or don't get a top notch 3bag, that we can look forward to watching him launch about 30 HR's next year........even if he only hits .220 and k's 500 times.....lol
