the bottom line is Adrian Gonzalez has proven he can take major league pitching deep 18 times in just over half a season.

I find it funny for someone to scoff at that just because he didn't hit boat loads of HRs in the minor leagues.

I'm insane? Why, because Hall' OPS is over 70 or so points higher than Young's, even when Young plays in Arlington? Or is it because you seem to think Gonzalez won't hit more than 15 a year, even though he surpassed that in only his first year (or half of his first year, rather, many being oppo blasts which are goog signs for pure power)?

Or is it just because you called me a variety of lewd insults? I don't see how any of this makes me insane.

Wow, Lugo's stats are impressive also (though he's had a good number of fewer at bats). I might be way off when looking so highly of Hall, I guess?

And Carlos Guillen has better stats than Hall and Tejada. I stand absolutely corrected on this, nice finds Fishercat.

I guess it'd be safer to call Hall a top 5 shortstop, give or take. Still enough with Ensbrg/Ramirez to maker our offense around the 6th or 7th best I think

Did anyone ever say Hall wasn't a good SS, or even at the top of the foodchain for SS's ? I'm trying to catch up on this thread that took on a life of it's own last night........lol good work everyone....pretty entertaining read...

Adrian Gonzalez had a grand total of 192 at bats in his two seasons as a Ranger, not really enough to make an adaquate assessment as compared to the full season of starting this season.

I think I heard an annoucer give Gonzo's AAA stats and said something to the effect of in 338 AB's he hit 18 HR's, and as it happens he's right on par with those stats this year.......so actually he's playing right to his potential was the discussion....

Along with playing a GG calibur 1st base.......and if he's not careful he might win it

So that's damn good progression....and he's right on par with his last years hr/ab stats......I like this kid greatly......not just for the power produced, but the full package.....he's best and most complete 1b we've had in years

I hope you're not saying his numbers now are a fluke. He's got such a sweet swing and is a doubles threat as well as a HR threat. He's a young player who will be a Padre for a long time to come. He's going to be a fan favorite for a long time.....
