    Vinny is gone!

    Padres placed third baseman Vinny Castilla on waivers for the purpose of giving him his unconditional release.
    Finally. Castilla hit .232/.260/.319 with four homers and 23 RBI in 259 at-bats. He was better outside Petco, hitting .293/.315/.398, but he's just not an asset as a regular these days. The Padres will go with Mark Bellhorn and Geoff Blum at third base for now. They'll keep trying to upgrade before the deadline. Jul. 19 - 4:02 pm et

    I'm worried about the Hillenbrand thing.

    I'm worried that now that he can be had for cheaper we'll get him instead of Ensberg or Aramis Ramierez

    on a side note, Sandy Alderson stated on 1090 after yesterday's game that the Padres are willing to take on more salary if need be for an upgrade.
