They're actually talking about moving Lance Berkman back to the outfield, putting Huff at 1st and keeping Ensberg at 3rd.

Makes sense FrmFresnan. Their problem is offense and moving Ensberg wouldn't really help that.
I think the Ensberg deal becomes more unlikely if Berkman's groin injury keeps him out for any length of time. Don't be surprised if it's Aaron Boone that wears a Padre uniform before next Monday.

Let's look at the 3rd basemen....Joe Randa gives you defense, but not what the Padres need on offense. Aramis Ramirez will not be traded by Chicago, Aaron Boone isn't much offensively or defensively since his ACL injury a few years ago and it doesn't look like Ensberg is going to be moved after Berkman's injury yesterday.....so who's left?

As much as the so called "experts" on ESPN say that Ensberg won't be traded, I think that's the deal that is being worked out right now. If any of you noticed last night, in a 4-3 game in the 8th inning, we would usually see Scott Linebrink, but it was Cla Meredith that came out in that spot and was untouched. If you also notice, in the bottom of the 8th, it was Linebrink warming up and not Hoffman, could be that they wanted to showcase Liney as a closer?
