Was Depodesta the Dodgers former GM?
Yes, De Podesta was the former Dodgers GM but he was also in the Oakland A's organization with Sandy Alderson.

"DePodesta will report to CEO Sandy Alderson and will work closely with all members of the Baseball Operations Department, including Executive Vice President/General Manager Kevin Towers. DePodesta is scheduled to join the Padres on July 13"
oy, don't know what to say to this move after all the shit I gave Dodger fans when he was their GM.

But you have to remember, he was with Oakland when they had their best years.

to be fair, I still said at the time of his firing that he was let go too early.
They really didn't give him much of a chance.
I mainly critisized him for the LoDuca/Penny trade...but Penny seems to be doing good for them, so perhaps that wasn't so bad.

Agreed......way to quick......and too many internal issues to call it one persons fault up there in LA
Dan Evans was the GM during the ownership change. McCourt handpicked DePodesta to replace Evans and avoid philosophical differences. I still believe McCourt shot himself on the foot by letting DePo go after two years. The decision led to another roster overhaul by current GM Colletti.Originally Posted by padrefanforever

Another freaking Dodger reject......well, isn't that just the cat's meow....great.....
