I tend to stay out of most Bonds debates for that reason. (I did take out the "never will" part though, I don't pretend to be a psychic)

i didn't say you guys are all racist ok. I said the crap that Bonds is going through if unfair, when Mcgwire didn't go through shit! So is not fair to assume its partialy because of racism, instead you guys keep throwing the "oh cuz he's a jerk" crap.

like it or not the vast majoirty of fans are convinced that Bonds is on steroids. (i'd lean towards that conclusion as well, i'm just a bit more realistic and don't try to argue) and because of that, they're going to hate the guy. Just live with it, it is what it is, and odds are....they're right anyways.

Again, I guarantee you if the roids controversy was as wide spread in 1998 as it is now nobody would've been loving McGwire and he'd probably get shit thrown at him as well.

Regardless of how much he wants everyone to believe it, Bonds is not this singled out victim that everyone hates just because it's him.

And I notice you continually ignore my question as to why nobody threw shit at Sammy Sosa in 1998.

I find it funny that Padre fans, of all people, would be accused of being prejudiced towards someone because he's black when the biggest icon in Padres history is black.

Sosa was in the shadow of Mcgwire that year and he did not hold the single season HR record like Bonds does

here's where you're misconcieved.

Let's play a little role reversal here.

Let's pretend, for the sake of argument, that it was Bonds chasing Sammy back in 1998 and Bonds ended up with 70. In the meantime, McGwire was just having an "average" 40+ HR season.

Fast forward a few years and the roids scandall has broken loose.
In the meantime Bonds has since retired and McGwire proceeds to shatter Bonds' record with 73 HRs, looking a helluva lot more buff than he had in the past I might add.

In the above scenario it would've been Bonds with all the fan fare and McGwire with all the hate.

THAT is my point. It's not Bonds' skin it's the circumstances involved.

Furthermore, if the roids issue arose before 1998 none of the 3 would've been so loved.

But people just LOVE pulling the race card whenever something adverse happens to someone who's not white, it's sickening if you ask me.

i'm sure race is a part of the reason....for SOME people. I'm not dumb, there are racist and prejudiced people out there.

But when talking about the general populous, it has absolutly nothing to do with it, it has to do with steroids.

The average fan at the time (with McGwire/Sosa) knew nothing of the issue's exsistance. Had they, they would've hated McGwire just as much.

Furthermore, if it wasn't the case they wouldn't hate on bonds so much.

Let me throw you another example. Back before McGwire when it looked like Griffey was going to break the record, where was the hate for him?
