I really didn't want to let Ybanez go, but he'll be up for free agency soon, so turning one great player into another potential star in Delcastillo plus some other nice pieces made sense for the future. San Diego's system was in sad shape with so many players graduating and not being able to restock the farm when Krull and Bemudez became free agents.
