FREE AGENCY IS A GO-GO

Same format as last year. This period will be 7 days in the game. Keep PM's to a max of two. Players may not like your team for whatever reason. And if you message me with enough time ahead of the deadline, I will reply back that they did not even take your offer into consideration, that way you can offer to someone else. I can not withdraw offers on the same day (round) they were made, so if you send it in and the player does not have a problem with your team, it's entered for the round. Nor can you increase an offer made during the same round, in other words you can only make one offer to a player during each round. And if you have more offers than cash, well, that's your fault.

All offers are entered and the bidding is blind. The player chooses his team essentially. Players sometimes will not listen to an offer for no other reason than the game is set to not let teams overload via FA and sign all the top talent there. It's pretty much random from what I heard but it doesn't have to do with your record or anything like that. This is why it's best to get your offers in early in case a certain player or two will not listen to your team's offers.

I've decided against any major limitations on offers other than all teams are limited to a max of 40 million dollars to spend. Obviously this only applies to teams with 40 or more million dollars to spend on free agents. And if you offered player x 10 million to lower your available total to 30 million, if he signed elsewhere you can offer that 10 million again to someone else, but if he signed with you your total left to offer is 30 million. Make your offers in the following format for my ease

Format is as follows:
Team offers Position Player x amount of years for x amount of cash per year
Florida Marlins offer 3B Joe Crede 5 years at 5 mil per
Florida Marlins offer SP Josh Beckett 5 years at 10 mil per
(Included in parenthesis in subsequent rounds any players that signed with you so it is known to me easily)

Also keep in mind that one of the changes that might kick in for 2030, not this season, will be making both leagues put a bat in the pitcher's hands.
(Of course if this happens, both this ST and next, you could allocate points to a player to learn a position.)

It's twofold really:

a.) The league will be in a new era by 2030. An older era, so non-DH fits.
b.) I've ran this league for years now. Through getting a college degree, working, creating other sites and now job hunting. I've been doing this since I was 17 or 18. Eliminating a set of lineups, will reduce my workload quite a bit and hopefully allow me to continue doing the league.

I have never been unfair when doing any of this. If this did happen and a player wasn't able to learn a position or whatever, I would create some kind of posting opportunity where you could earn one player a new position (5 arm and 5 range kind of a deal, average.)

I have never been in a league with no DH, but I've been in enough with all DH. It'll either stay the way it is (AL yes, NL no) or go all non-DH, nothing is decided.

Wouldn't we.. or the AL really, rather try to convert a hitter to a pitcher since they'll be down a spot so to speak ( or maybe I just misunderstand your idea of learning a new position). I don't know how many AL teams have a really good DH though, it might not even be so much of a big transition to no DH's. Half the league is already used to it as is.
