Had no idea 3 more wins were more important. Who knew.

The .3 something ERA difference wasn't important either. I'll be honest I knew Vanvalkenberg would win MVP. But, I figured Peppers would win the Cy Young.

Olsen did walk 50 more batters, but struck out over 100 more than Batista.

Whats more surprising, Batista winning the CY or Lizardo beating Magners for MVP?

Apparently, having an ERA almost a full run lower than anyone else isn't a big deal.

    Re: S3SL 2028 Award Winners

That might have to do with the fact Benitez won 26 games and had 60 more IP and 4 more starts than Countryman. Justin Wilson is probably scratching his head too.

same problem I had with McGowan all those seasons ago, although not to the extent of a 6 win gap

I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Wins and innings must be the only things that matter, ya know. Wait for 2046 when a 22 game winner that logged 275 innings wins the Cy Young. Oh but the catch being his WHIP was like David Wells' weight.

    Bleh....

    Richard Vanvalkenburg (Ari)!
He batted .297 in 542 AB, with 46 homers and 135 RBI.

    Joseph Holmes (Phi)!
He batted .307 in 605 AB, with 43 homers and 153 RBI.

What makes Vanvalkenburg the MVP? Is there a foolish panel of sports writers coded into the AI?

In all seriousness, Congrats to Porter! It was close enough and the AI picked your guy.

Can anyone tell me how Lizardo won an MVP over John Magner?
