I don't know how he'll turn out this year, but Beier has to be the best 1.5 million dollar signing in ANY league based on his performance with Toronto. 38 homers, .934 OPS, his career best season... what a pick-up. If he can do that again, Zito just scored big here.

But really, Halladay scores 38 homeruns for spare change. I'd really be happy if he hit 25 or so.

Just be glad I didn't post at the start of the season about him and what he did. I think to a fair number of GM's, his season went unnoticed. If I needed a bat badly this season, I'd have no problems throwing 5 or 6 mil at him for a single season deal to get some power.

I was lucky to sign him at all and he was the perfect 5th hitter

I would have liked to sign him to an extension but with the way my payroll was, I didn't know if I would have had enough room at the time

Surprised not many did, Halladay typically kept us informed in the random rumblings. I think it'll be worth gambling 3 million, his potential easily is on par with some of the guys who are being overpaid at just a fraction of the cost.

I wish I had the flexibility in the OF to go after a RF rather than needing a LF I definately would have tried for Beier and brought him back to where things started. After seeing what he got Im semi glad that Matsusuke wouldnt listen because I offered him way too much and would have be moaned the move to bring him in if he stumbled.
